Dear Friends,
The following poem by Edward Martin is amazing. The Holy Spirit has brought me to see my self in a new light.
My Name is Legion
Within my earthly temple there’s a crowd;
There’s one of us that’s humble, one that’s proud,
There’s one that is broken-hearted for his sins,
There’s one that unrepentant sits and grins;
There’s one that loves his neighbour as himself,
And one that cares for naught but fame and pelf,
From much corroding care I should be free
If I could once determine which is me.
I reflect and see myself no different from the man in the Gadarenes (Luke 8:26-30). I went to the Lord with a contrite heart and I hear the Him say:
I am the deity of your heart; I see your love for me.
In your humility I see myself; In your pride, I am crucified, yet again.
In your brokenness, I see my scars that make you whole;
In your sinfulness, I find myself put out of your heart.
Loving your neighbour as yourself is my glory;
Your lust for fame and pelf, is my agony.
Keep your eyes on me, let your cares be my concern.
You are mine and we are one.
Yours in Christ,
Dr. Samson Gandhi
