Distance learning courses are designed to equip lay counsellors who prefer the flexibility of learning at their own pace or place. However it would require students to be self-disciplined and highly motivated.
The course can also be done in groups for better learning.
Eligibility for the course is a minimum age of 18 years and proficiency in the language offered.
