Dear Friends,
What attitudes do spiritual people have towards money? Paul, writing to Timothy, mentions two attitudes. Read 1 Timothy 6:3-10. One, where some spiritual people stray from the pure gospel, start controversies and create divisions. They fish in troubled waters. They practice spirituality to make quick, easy money. Paul exhorts Timothy to have nothing to do with them.
The second kind of people know that we brought nothing into the world and cannot take anything from it. If they have food and clothing, they are content. For them, godliness with contentment is a great gain. They keep the gospel and doctrine simple and straight. They nurture people to love God, love and live in peace with all.
What is our attitude? Are we practising spirituality for money? Some of us may not seek financial gain, but are we seeking respect, honour or priority for the service we render as
ministry? Do we barter service for entitlement? Then we are no better than those who commercialise or monetise spirituality.
Let us be found in the second kind, where we do everything out of love for God, knowing that he will meet all our needs. God reward you and honour you.
Yours truly.
